Bell Mobility Products & Services

History

Bell Mobility is a CDMA and HSPA+, now LTE based wireless network (named Bell Cellular up until 1993) and the division of Bell Canada, which sells wireless services in Canada. Bell Mobility has over 6,833,000 subscribers as of the end of Q4 2009. As of Q4 of 2010, Bell Mobility owns over 50% of the Canadian wireless service market share making it the current leader of wireless providers in the country.

Bell-owned Virgin Mobile Canada and Solo Mobile, as well as Loblaw's PC Mobile, operate as MVNOs on the Bell Mobility network. Some of Bell Canada's regional subsidiaries continue to operate their own wireless networks separate from (but generally allowing for roaming with) Bell Mobility; these are Northwestel (NMI Mobility and Latitude Wireless), T幨嶵ec (T幨嶵ec Mobilité), and NorthernTel (NorthernTel Mobility).

In addition to running its own retail operation, Bell partners with carrier retailers like those run throughout Canada by Times Telecom. Bell Mobility Inc. provides wireless communications services nationally under the Bell Mobility and Solo Mobile brands. Bell Mobility also has 100% ownership of Virgin Mobile Canada which allows us to offer wireless services under the Virgin brand across Canada.
